What Is Fantasy?
Fantasy fiction is one of the most popular fiction genres.
When reading fantasy (and most of its subgenres), you usually find yourself in a new world. As a result, world building is extremely important to the fantasy author. If you love mythology and magic and magical creatures, then fantasy fiction is your cup of tea.
One thing that I love about fantasy that it shares with science fiction is its use of distortions. Elements are exaggerated to make aspects of the human condition more clear. I love that!
